Erin O’Connor joins Milady as Publisher. Erin comes to Milady with twenty years of experience in the publishing industry. She joined Delmar Learning in 1986 after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management with Siena College in Loudonville, NY. Erin began her career at the very foundation of publishing in Customer Service/Customer Support, and then moved into Inside Sales and Inside Sales Management. In 1989 Erin made the move over to the editorial side of publishing and has never looked back. With almost 20 years in editorial Erin has held positions as Associate Editor, Acquisitions Editor, and Senior Acquisitions Editor, all the while growing the publishing programs, market share, and revenue in her disciplines. Receiving many acknowledgements and accolades during her tenure, Erin’s most recent awards include; Outstanding Editorial Support 2006 “Editor of the Year” Education Channel, and 2006 Team of the Year. Erin’s energy and enthusiasm for education make her the ideal candidate to lead the publishing efforts for Milady.

Gerard McAvey
has recently joined Milady as Senior Marketing Manager. He has been with Cengage Learning, Milady’s parent company, for eight years. In that time he began as a sales representative and then extended his career into the marketing realm. He brings to the team exceptional knowledge of numerous markets including High School, 2/4 year, Career College, and Retail. Gerard has been recognized as the Marketing Manager of the year within the Career & Professional Group of Cengage Learning for the last two years and is very excited to be focusing solely on the Milady products.

Lisha Barnes joins Milady as an educational trainer. Lisha has a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Eastern New Mexico University. She is licensed as a Barber, Cosmetologist, and Instructor in New Mexico and as an Instructor in Arizona. Lisha co-authored Milady’s Standard Study Guide, The Essential Companion, 2000, 2004 and 2008 editions with Letha Barnes. She wrote the Instructor’s Guide for Milady’s Standard Fundamentals of Cosmetology CD-ROM, 2000 and 2008 editions, and is a contributing author to Milady’s Standard Cosmetology, 2004 and 2008 editions. In addition to being one of The Career Institute's most highly requested presenters, Lisha recently served as financial aid assistant and educational advisor for a chain of seventeen cosmetology schools.
